The Polish, Romanian, and Estonian PRE-ActiVer (PREfabricated Active wall system using Verolith®) project is dedicated to developing, constructing, and investigating a lightweight wall panel equipped with interconnected PV panels and a heat-dissipation system. This collaborative, multidisciplinary research project, involving four European partners, is funded under the M-ERA.NET Call 2024 in the thematic area of functional materials. It commenced in April 2025 and is planned to last 36 months. The R&D activities will be carried out by partners from three universities, namely Lodz University of Technology (Poland), Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), and Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest (Romania), in collaboration with an industrial partner, Sto company (Poland).

 

The project supported by the project PRE-ActiVer in a framework of M-ERA.NET by:

The general objectives of the study are:

  • investigations of the selected components of the ActiVer on the laboratory scale,
  • development of individual parts of the ActiVer, e.g. electrical sockets, air channels, etc.,
  • investigations of the hygrothermal performance using experimental and numerical techniques,
  • proof of the concept in the component scale based on energy performance analyses,
  • determination of the environmental performance – Life Cycle Assessment and Carbon Footprint analyses,
  • development of prefabrication technology and cost optimization,
  • construction of the ActiVer façade on a building scale,
  • experimental investigations of the ActiVer façade under actual climatic conditions,
  • calibration of the computational model of ActiVer for energy performance calculation,
  • energy performance analyses under existing and future climatic conditions for different locations.
