Lodz University of Technology (TUL) enjoys a high position in Poland and strengthens it on the international stage, also thanks to its active membership in the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU). In its 80-year tradition, TUL continuously improves the quality of education, conducts research, and responds to the needs of the socio-economic environment. The university offers education at the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and postgraduate levels. TUL is among the 20 Polish universities implementing the Excellence Initiative – Research University program. The high-level research conducted here covers 12 scientific disciplines, of which three have been rated A+, six A, and three B+ as a result of evaluation. The work and projects are carried out with the fulfilment of Sustainable Development Goals.
Faculty of Process and Environmental Engineering is a scientific unit that actively promotes the advancement of industrial technologies and environmental projects, their safety and mitigation of environmental impact, with particular emphasis on climate change. The Faculty carries out research related to major environmental engineering problems such as water treatment and sewage treatment, reduction of emission of harmful gases and dusts into the atmosphere, waste management, processing and effective use of biomass, energy efficiency of buildings and smart city solutions.
The key persons responsible for the project at TUL are Dariusz Heim, Dominika Knera and Anna Wieprzkowicz. The team works in the Laboratory of Building Physics and Energy Systems at the Department of Environmental Engineering. The main areas of expertise are materials engineering, building and urban physics, building energy performance modelling and simulation, and architectural engineering. Moreover, other Faculty members: Aleksandra Ziemińska-Stolarska, Eliza Szczepańska-Rosiak and Michał Krempski-Smejda, as well as MSc and PhD students, are partially engaged in a selected research study during project execution. The TUL team is fully involved from the concept development part, through mock-up development, lab-scale and in-situ measurement, up to modelling and simulation.
